About

The Show

Bred In Captivity explores religion and politics at the intersection of conspiracy. This platform seeks to expose the systems that keep We The People complicit in our slavery to the 1%. Every topic is presented through a series of scripted episodes, researched, written, and delivered by your host, Aspen Wakeham.

The Host and the Cult She Escaped

In 2020 Aspen escaped seven generations of Mormonism, culminating in a incestuous, polygamous cult called The Church of Christ operated by her uncle, Samuel Rodrigo Peacemaker, a.k.a. “El Cid.” Aspen’s parents, Thomas Edison Wakeham and Gracie Lorraine Smith (formerly Christa Lorraine Wakeham) are half-siblings, sharing the same father and different mothers. Their father, Jerry “Bruce” Wakeham, (alias John Morgan Peacemaker), had five or six wives and more than thirty children. Bruce told his family that there were no good men left on the earth other than himself and his sons, and placed multiple groups of his children into arranged, incestuous marriages. Aspen’s father claimed to have a revelation confirming the truth of Bruce’s teachings, and her parents were married on August 3rd, 1994.

Aspen spent twenty years in the cult, protecting her parents’ secrets and following the rules of a narcissistic, predatory “prophet”; she escaped five days shy of her twenty-first birthday. Six years later she founded Bred In Captivity and took the next step in the fight against “El Cid”, and every system that made his reign possible.

How Episodes Are Created

Every episode is researched and written before it is recorded. The transcript of what Aspen says is published with the video, and each claim in it links to a source behind it: academic papers, books and documents to read next, and the videos Aspen used while researching. If you would rather read than watch, the transcript reflects the entire episode. Any variations are mistakes made during recording.
